One finca, two houses with characters of their own. Both share the river, the viewpoint and the paths; what changes is what you wake up to.

  1. Stop 1/6 · the river

The river, right at the bottom

The finca has its own access to the Gaira river — locals often call it the Minca river: big boulders, cold Sierra water and shade. After heavy rain it rises fast; ask before you swim.

  3. Stop 3/6 · the climb

The climb, through mango and bamboo

The path climbs hard. The finca estimates 7 to 10 minutes on foot from the entrance; with luggage take a mototaxi, and at night bring a torch. It’s a workout — forgotten once you’re up there.

  5. Stop 5/6 · the viewpoint

    The private viewpoint

At the top of the finca, a rock to watch the afternoon fall. “Our private viewpoint opens up the horizon,” the finca wrote: the view opens towards Santa Marta and the sea.

Higher still, the finca’s private viewpoint, looking towards Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea.

Casa Mango

On the lowest part of the finca, right on the road to Pozo Azul, Casa Mango offers a private room with two single beds, a personal fan, towels and a view of the forest. It has its own tourism registration and is booked separately.

The finca in motion

Nine scenes, all of them real.

Cuts from the videos and photos the finca has posted: the upstairs garden, the hammocks, monkeys in the canopy, the river and the fire. Nothing generated, nothing from elsewhere.

The river and the horizon

River water running between rocks, with the original “Acceso privado al río” caption.

Downstairs

The river.

Casa Maracuyá sits on the Gaira river, and the finca has its own way down to the water: pools between big boulders, cold water from the Sierra, the shade of tall trees and a choza with a fire on the bank.

The river rises fast after heavy rain upstream, even if it’s dry where you are. Ask before swimming and stay out when it’s high.

Upstairs

The horizon.

At the top of the finca is the private viewpoint: a rock to watch the afternoon paint the Sierra’s ridges, with the view open towards Santa Marta and the sea. Casa Quinta, just below, has a hammock terrace to keep looking.

For the way back after sunset, bring a torch.

The upstairs house

Fire and kitchen

Jungle days, nights of conversation.

Life here gathers around the fire and the shared kitchen. There’s no party every night: there’s lingering after dinner, someone with a guitar now and then and, when the wood burns down, the sound of the river.

Working from Minca

Your desk has a new view.

In 2022 the finca introduced Casa Quinta as its “Coworking Lodge”: the quiet upstairs house, with spaces to work and the view wide open. What we can promise is calm; the connection is best confirmed for your dates.

  • Wi‑Fi in the houses. The finca advertises it as fast; we publish no figures: ask for a recent test before you come.
  • A long table on the terrace, a round table in the lounge and hammock corners to think in.
  • A shared kitchen to cook on your own clock, no restaurant hours.
  • For weeks or months, ask about longer-stay terms.

Caring for the place

Small things, done well.

No green speeches: this is what the finca has done and shared, with dates.

    Filtered water, less plastic

The finca installed a reverse-osmosis system so guests refill bottles instead of buying bottled water, and launched its own reusable bottles.

Beyond the finca

Minca, on foot and by mototaxi.

Pools, waterfalls, mountain coffee and endemic birds close by. These are other people’s places: we tell you what we know and how to prepare.

  1. Lám. 01

    Pozo Azul

    Natural pools upriver

A string of pools and small falls on the same river, just outside the village. It’s Minca’s classic swim, so go early: in high season, at weekends and on holidays it gets busy.

    Morning Easy

  2. Lám. 02

    Finca La Victoria

    Coffee since 1892, and birds

A historic coffee estate above the village offering a coffee tour, birdwatching, a bistro and a shop. It’s an independent business: you book directly with them.

    Morning Easy

  3. Lám. 03

    Marinka waterfalls

    Falls and pools, uphill

A privately run waterfall complex with swimming pools, giant hammocks and food, up the dirt road from the village. A good morning, paired with a coffee farm.

Before you arrive

Arriving well is part of the trip.

  2. 2

    Arrive in daylight

Check-in 15:00–20:00; reception 08:00–20:00. After 8 pm arrival isn’t guaranteed: tell us in advance if you’ll be late.
